
This photo is from the collection of Russ Nichols, who added the following:
Flynn was Helene [Hungate's?] second husband. She survived her first, a German gentleman named Karst. She came to Lowell from a place called New Harmony, Indiana, one of those social experimental towns. Their daughter, Hazel Karst, was my mom.
I have sent you closeups [see below] of the men in the scrap drive shot -- my grandfather Flynn V. Russell and group shots of the others. I don't know any of them, but the one in the bib overalls may just be Harold Sorensen, who eventually bought the dealership from Flynn or my grandmother. He moved the franchise to a much more modern building out on highway 41.
