Lewis Alva Childress and Julia Viola Dickey and family, Christmas Day, 1902. My grandmother is Ireta Mae Childress (born 1896) wearing the white pinafore and standing next to her mother. My grandmother told me that she was very unhappy at the time this picture was taken. She had received a banana and an orange in her Christmas stocking that morning and had just started to eat the banana when she was called away for this photo session. As you can see, she's pouting!
