The following article was found on page 1, column 2 of the July 12, 1917, Lowell Tribune:
Mrs. Charles Underwood died very suddenly Monday morning. She has been in very poor health for some time but was able to attend church Sunday. Heart failure was the cause of her death. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.A. McKay yesterday. Obituary next week.
