The following article was found in the April 1, 1954, Lowell Tribune on
page 5, column 4:
Fort Bragg, N.C. -- Pfc. Dale I. Spry, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neil
Spry, Grant Park, Illinois, will arrive at the Exercise Flash Burn
maneuver area near Fort Bragg, N.C., later this month, with the 476th
Chemical Battalion from Fort McClellan, Ala. Spry, whose wife Arlene
lives in Anniston, Ala., is a member of the battalion's 66th chemical
depot company, which will provide technical assistance in chemical
warfare problems facing the 60,000 troops taking part in the training
exercise. He entered the Army in September 1953.
