Veteran of landing at Subic Bay, Bataan and New Guinea, for which he wears three battle stars, Capt. Simpson has 107 service points to his credit. Assigned to the infantry quartermaster corps, Capt. Simpson doubts that he will be returned to inactive duty, despite his high point score, since officers in his combat area are considered vital to the war effort.
Overseas since January 1944, he was inducted in April 1941. A graduate of Hebron high school, the captain was employed at Sears Roebuck and Co., Lowell, before starting his military career.
His wife and their two children reside in Lansing at 18140 Chicago Avenue.
