When she was a very small child she came to Remington, Ind., where she spent the years of her youth and young womanhood.
She was united in marriage with Charles A. Reeves, June 11, 1905, and of this union ten children were born, nine of whom are living. Hazel Margaret preceded her mother in death about eight years ago, at the age of 10 years.
The surviving members of the immediate family are the husband, Charles A. Reeves, Dorris, Harold, Richard, Glenn, Pauline, Maxine, Laverne, Homer and Alice Maude Reeves, all at home.
Mrs. Reeves was converted and united with the Baptist church when quite young. Later during her early life, she with her husband united with the M.E. church in Remington, Ind. Her membership in the M.E. church was twice transferred, first from Remington to Belshaw and from Belshaw to Lowell, where she continued to be a faithful and consistent member until called out of a life of sacrifice and toil unto larger life of supreme happiness and eternal rewards, where she now enjoys the fellowship of those loved ones who have gone before, and awaits, possibly in eager expectation, the coming of the dear ones left behind.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, in which lodge she was an ardent worker, holding office to the entire satisfaction of her fraternal sisters.
She was a true and faithful wife and mother, a good neighbor and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but most of all by those of her own household, where she wielded her greatest and most lasting influence.
The passing of this good woman leaves our bodies bowed in grief and our hearts filled with indescribable sadness. But our mourning is not without hope, for she was safely anchored to the Rock of Eternal Ages.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Friday at 2 p.m. and were in charge of Rev. C.A. Brown, former pastor of the church, and Rev. A.E. Dougherty, present pastor. Members of the local camp of Royal Neighbors performed their ritualistic ceremony at the church. Interment was made in Lowell cemetery in charge of Undertakers Weaver and Son. The following acted as pall-bearers: Claude Trump, Fred Burnham, H.W. Petrie, Edward Minninger, L.W. Brown, L.W. Ragon.
