The following unidentified newspaper article was in a collection owned by Lowell Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Killed by Bull
Eugene, the nineteen-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Raeth, living on the Philip Stuppy farm in West Creek, was killed by a bull yesterday about noon. He was attending to the cattle when the bull attacked him and before help could reach him he was dead. His skull was fractured and he was otherwise badly bruised about the arms and upper part of his body. The accident is a very sad one and his parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
