Funeral services for Mr. Patchett, who was one of the largest land owners in this county, owning much land both here and in Indiana, will be held at the First Methodist Episcopal church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Mr. Patchett was a member of this church and also a member of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Patchett was born near Reddick, in Norton township, June 5, 1861, and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Patterson Patchett. He lived there until his marriage to Clara Hulbert, October 24, 1888. They lived on a farm near Reddick until twelve years ago when they moved to Kankakee.
Mr. Patchett is survived by his widow and six children: Mrs. E.G. Wilson, wife of Dr. E.G. Wilson, of Kankakee; Mrs. G.N. Herman, of Chicago; Earl Patchett, of Reddick; Mrs. F.*R. Jones, wife of Dr. E.*R. Jones, of Kankakee; Chester Patchett, of Van Crof, Michigan and Miss Margaret Patchett, who lives at the home in Kankakee. He also leaves four brothers and one sister, Patterson Patchett, of Vernon, Montana, Radford Patchett, of Reddick, Oliver Patchettt, of Reddick, and William Patchett, of Kankakee.
Funeral services were held on Friday at the First Methodist Episcopal church. A large circle of relatives and friends were present to pay their tributes of respect to the memory of this good man. Many and beautiful were the flowers placed about the casket as a token of love and respect from many friends.
A quartet, consisting of Mrs. D.M. Morris, Mrs. J.C. Bohmker, Mr. Frank McGrew and Mr. S.M. Hawk, sang appropriate hymns. The men's club of the church, of which Mr. Patchett was an active member, attended in a body.
Dr. W.H. Craine, Dr. F.E. Shult and Rev. C.W. Cordes conducted the service.
Following the services at the church the funeral cortege proceeded to Mound Grove, where interment was made.
Mr. Patchett was a home man devoted to his family, who have the sympathy of the entire community in their great loss.
