The following December 28, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5 column 3:
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Nichols of Henry, Ill., spent Monday night and Tuesday here with their daughter, Miss Kathryn, and his sister, Miss Ethel Nichols. They all spent Xmas day with the Nichols' son and family at Gary.
