The following unidentified newspaper article (ca. 1905) was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:
Quietly Married
Leonard Minninger and Miss Laura Cornell were quietly married in Chicago Saturday. Their many friends were taken completely by surprise, as no hint of their intentions had been out. Miss Cornell has been going to school here, and was in her third year of high school. Leonard graduated last year. The young people are most highly esteemed by all who know them, and their many friends extend to them their best wishes for a happy and prosperous married life. They arrived home Sunday night, and received the blessings of the groom's parents, and cigars were being given out Monday on the strength of the happy event.
