M. Edna Hancock was born in New Richmond, Ohio, October 22, 1882, and died May 6, 1904, aged 21 years, 6 months and 11 days. She was married to Oren Archie Love February 6, 1901. She has been in poor health for over a year. Her death resulted from an operation for appendicitis. She was a very reserved woman, yet made many friends. Those who knew her best loved her most. She was a faithful helpmate to her husband, loved her home and all that goes to make home happy. She always tried to do right. She became a member of the Christian church eight years ago under the preaching of A.M. Hootman and remained faithful to her trust to the end, and said, "If I do not live through the operation I will be with my baby," who went on before her only a few weeks ago. She leaves a sorrowing husband, a mother, a step-father, one own sister, three half-sisters, an aged grand-mother and many friends to mourn her loss.
Her funeral occurred from the West Creek church at 11 a.m. Friday, and was very largely attended, thus attesting the high esteem in which she was held. Rev. D.D. Hoagland preached the funeral discourse. Funeral director John Castle had charge of the burial service. Interment was made in the Lowell cemetery. The TRIBUNE extends to the bereaved husband and relatives sincere sympathy in this their dark hour of sorrow and bereavement.
