He was born at Crown Point, August 3, 1863, and has been continuous resident of the county all of his life with the exception of one year spent in Kansas.
He moved to Hammond a number of years ago where he conducted a drug store for a number of years. He installed the first telephone exchange in the city of Hammond and continued to manage it until it was disposed of to the Chicago Telephone Co. He then continued to be resident manager until he was promoted to district manager. At one time he was a member of the board of County commissioners of Lake county and made a good officer. He was a man who bore the respect and esteem of all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
The funeral arrangements have not as yet been completed.
