LEWIS FOLEY DIES IN THE HOSPITAL

FROM EFFECTS OF INJURY RECEIVED ON MONDAY BEFORE AT SCHNEIDER

Lewis Foley, who worked for Ruge & Gragg in their yards at Schnieder, was badly hurt a week ago Monday. He went to crank the company truck and when he turned it over, the oil being heavy, the car started ahead and he attempted to go between the truck and his own car that was parked in the garage when the rod on the dump of the truck penetrated the fleshy part of his leg. He did not seem to be seriously hurt, but after bringing him to Lowell to have the wound dressed it was thought best to take him to a hospital, which was done. Infection set in immediately after the accident and on Friday night he passed away.

Obituary

Lewis Patrick Foley, son of Daniel and Laura E. Foley, was born in Valentine, Lagrange County, Indiana, December 31, 1887, and passed away at the St. Margaret hospital at Hammond on February 1, 1929, at the age of forty-one years, one month, and one day. He moved with his parents to Lake County, August 4, 1890, where he resided until 1905 when he went to Villa Grove, from here to Eureka where he attended college.

He was united in marriage to Ray Morris in 1912; to this union was born three children. Mrs. Foley departed this life in April 1925. Later he was united in marriage to Jessie Stowell and to this union two children were born.

He united with the Church of Christ at Eureka in 1907. He was also a member of Modern Woodmen.

He leaves behind his wife, five children, there brothers, John of Villa Grove, Frank and Charles of LaPorte, one sister Mary Marse of Hammond and his aged father Daniel Foley.

Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ at Schneider, Sunday, February 3, 1929. Mr. E.L. Worley officiating. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery with William Sheets & Son directing.
