She was the daughter of Stephen B. and Marie Crane and was married to Henry L. Clement, of Lowell, Ind., at Vicksburgh, Mich., on Sept. 1, 1898, all of whom have preceded her demise. She leaves to mourn her loss, two daughters, Lyvah M. and Lylah H., two step-daughters, Mrs. Hattie DeVersey of Vernon, Ind., and Mrs. C.H. Vick, of Culver City, California, three brothers, Orris S. Crane of Indianapolis, Wm. H. Crane, of Lupton, Mich., and Cyrus Crane of Kalamazoo, Mich., and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a member of the M.E. church at Lowell since 1911 and was also a member of Washington Rebecca lodge at Shelby and of the National Postmasters' Assn., and has served the Shelby public faithfully and well for a number of years as postmistress.
She was a faithful worker in both the M.E. and Christian Ladies Aid and was loved by all who really knew her as a kindly mother, neighbor and friend, and folks who have been associated with her in Christian work and study can feel that she has, in fact, answered the call, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joys of thy reward."
Funeral services were held at the Christian church at Shelby Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. Jacob Woerner conducted the funeral service. Interment was made in Lowell cemetery. The following acted as pall bearers: Earl Sirois, Selden Spieth, Fred Nelson, Ben Mahler, H.H. Nelson, Ted Latta. The following were flower bearers: Mary Ellen Rieke, Ruby Sirois, Mary Stowell, Ethel May Carrigan, Clara Belle Mason, Erma Strickhorn.
