A copy of the following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:
A nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Clausen, residing down on Murray Turner's farm, died very suddenly last Sunday. He with his brothers and sisters were playing with a little wagon which upset and threw him to the ground, causing such injuries as to result in death after three or four minutes duration. At the time of the accident he was eating a cracker, and the supposition is that he choked to death. The shock was so sudden to the mother that she became unconscious, in which critical condition she remains up to this writing. Mr. Clausen is lying at the point of death with lung fever.
