Mrs. Burnell was born in Estill county, Kentucky, March 11, 1879 and had made her home in Belshaw the past 22 years, during which time she was a member of the Lowell Church of Christ.
She was married to William J. Burnell Sept. 2, 1896, in Richmond, Kentucky. Four sisters and five children preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband William, and son Orial of Belshaw; daughters Mrs. Charles Alger of Belshaw, Mrs. Carroll Conklin of Waterloo, Iowa; and 3 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; five brothers, Elmer Azbill of Clinton, Ill., Colman Azbill of Congerville, Ill., Esmer, Maylon and Floyd Azbill, all of Waterloo, Iowa; besides many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 14 at 2 p.m. in the Church of Christ, Lowell, with Loren Holt, pastor, officiating. Burial was made in the Sanders cemetery in West Creek township. The Sheets Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
