The following undated, unidentified newspaper article was found in a copy of Helen Craft's Scrapbook at the Lowell Public Library:
The Angel of Death.
DIED: -- After a protracted illness of seven months' duration Ralph Berleen quietly passed away at 3:00 o'clock A.M., Wednesday, October 16th, 1895, at his home at this place, aged nineteen years. He bore his long sickness like a hero, enduring his suffering patiently, and cheerfully accepted the inevitable. Ralph was an honest working boy and by his quiet and unassuming manner won the love and respect of all and he leaves many friends both young and old to deplore his departure. The grief-stricken mother and other relatives dear to him have the sincere sympathy of everyone in this their sad bereavement. The funeral services were held from the Christian church Thursday at 2:00 P.M., Rev. J. Bruce officiating.
