Young Austin was assisting Robert Vinnedge to top some trees in front of the Henry Carsten residence at the lake and in attempting to throw a chain around a pole it became entangled in the high tension wire carrying many thousand volts of electricity. The entire load immediately passed through his body and it was several minutes before the body could be got down, being held in midair by the heavy current.
The pulmotor squad from Crown Point was immediately summoned and they arrived promptly and worked for nearly two hours trying to bring life back into the body, but it was of no avail as the boy had passed all help. It is a very regrettable affair and the bereaved parents have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their great bereavement.
