The deceased was born and raised at Water Valley. He was 42 years of age and was a man who had a host of friends here at his old home and they will learn of his death with deep regret.
When war was declared he enlisted in 309th engineers in the 34th division. He went to France where he served until the armistice was signed. He then returned to his home and worked in the Gary sheet mill. Later he returned and married Miss Helene Carree.
He is survived by his parents and five brothers and five sisters in this country and by his wife and four children, Gloria, Lili, Collette and Gladys, in France.
Funeral services and interment will take place in France.
